Rachel Griffiths (born June 4, 1968 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) is a film and television actress. Although her title is Welsh, she is actually of Irish Catholic extractiin, & has an uncle on her mother's side world health organization occurs as Roman Catholic priest, & world health organization officiated at her wedding.
Griffiths was the proportional newcomer while cast in the film ''Muriel's Wedding (1994) as the loyal friend Rhonda, and the success of this film furthered the careers of both Griffiths and her costar Toni Collette.
She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Hilary and Jackie (1998). Although the desired actress inside Hollywood productions, she returns to Australia often & continues to work within Australian films. Her U.s. roles use at times involved her to master an U.s. accent, & in the 2001 film Very Annie Mary, Griffiths adopted the Welsh accent to star with a preponderantly Welsh cast as a girl from either the Vale of South Wales.
Her continuing role when Brenda Chenowith in the HBO series Six Feet Under earned her Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards, when well as ii Emmy Award nominations.
Griffiths married Australian artist Andrew Taylor on December 31, 2002, in Melbourne and the few stand deuce kids. Their boy, Banjo Patrick Taylor, was natural in November 22, 2003, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and their daughter, Adelaide Rose Taylor, was natural in June 23, 2005, in Los Angeles, California.
